What Does A Professional Handyman Do When The Sun Comes Out?
When the forecast finally turns, we turn with it. One of the quiet advantages of a multi-skilled team at Upcycle Interiors Ltd (UIL) is that we can plan around the British weather instead of being ambushed by it — so when a hot, dry week landed, we lined up the outside work and made hay. Painting, paving, gutters, repairs at height: here’s a week in the life of a professional handyman service, entirely alfresco.
Several of these clients are previous clients — people who’ve used us before and come straight back. Across Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester, and out to Wyke Regis, Sutton Poyntz, Portesham and Martinstown, that’s how most of our diary fills.
Why Upcycle Interiors Ltd (UIL) Just Joined the Painting and Decorating Association
Because "trust us" is easy to say and harder to prove.
Anyone can put "professional" on a van. Upcycle Interiors Ltd (UIL) has just done something that actually backs it up — we've joined the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA), the UK's largest trade body for professional, insured painters and decorators.
Trading Standards - Vetted. Grilled. Approved.
Finding a tradesperson you can actually trust shouldn’t feel like a gamble. But for most homeowners in Dorset, it does.
You know the drill. You need work done on your home. You ask around. Someone recommends someone. You call three numbers — one rings out, one promises to “pop round Tuesday” and never does, and the third turns up, sucks air through his teeth, quotes you a number plucked from thin air, and asks for cash.
We started Upcycle Interiors precisely because of that experience. Upcycle Interiors was grown from the frustration of finding trusted trades who would turn up. And today, we’ve got something to show for all the years we’ve spent doing things properly.
As of April 2026, Upcycle Interiors Limited is officially Trading Standards Approved — checked by Dorset Council, so you don’t have to.
Tips to keep your home cool in a heatwave
UK Health Security Agency heat-health alerts are becoming a regular part of the British summer, and most homes — old or new — simply aren't built to cope. Do nothing and you're looking at sleepless nights, a spike in your electricity bill from fans and portable AC running round the clock, and — for anyone vulnerable, elderly, or with young children in the house — a genuine health risk. The good news: most of the fixes cost nothing at all. A few cost a little. None of them require ripping your house apart.
At Upcycle Interiors Ltd (UIL), we work on homes across Weymouth, Portland and Dorchester — plus the villages in between, from Charminster and Puddletown to Osmington, Sutton Poyntz and Bridport — and we see the full range, from 1890s cottages to last year's new-build estates. The advice for keeping them cool isn't the same. Here's what works for everyone, and then what's specific to your house's age.
Professional TV Installation
Mounting a TV sounds simple, until you’re faced with an unfamiliar wall, hidden cabbles, tough brickwork, or fittings & fixings that just won’t bite. If you want your TV installed properly, safely, and with no stress, a professional handyman installation service is money well spent.
At Upcycle Interiors Ltd, you can book a professional TV installation service across Weymouth, Portland, and Dorchester, carried out by experienced tradespeople who work in real homes every day — not just new builds or showroom walls.

The Value of Communication in Renovation Projects
When people think about renovating a home, they often focus on the visible outcomes — finishes, layouts, materials, and budgets. What is far less visible, but just as critical, is communication. In our experience, the success or failure of a project is rarely down to one dramatic mistake; it is usually the result of small misunderstandings and miscommunication compounding over time. Clear, consistent communication is not a “soft skill” in construction.

September 2025 - Painting Project in Weymouth
