November 2024- Weymouth Courtyard Refurbishment

Our client in Weymouth found us via a Google search and reached out to request a refurbishment of their courtyard. We were happy to get involved and put our architectural hat on.

The project consisted of the following elements:

- Carpentry. A bespoke ‘pergola’ type of frame/roof structure to fit the irregular shaped courtyard (no - its not a rectangle LOL). The pergola frame gives the sense of enclosure and makes the space into an ‘outdoor room’ - somewhere peaceful to relax. In the spring this will be draped with solar powered festoon lights/net lights etc

- Painting. The existing walls were in a bad state of repair and the entire courtyard needed a spruce up. We power washed the whole ‘room’, removed flaking paint and then gave it 2 coats of trade quality paint. The weather was just perfect!

- Flooring. Wooden decking ‘tiles’ were used to give a quick ‘makeover’ effect to the area. The flooring really transforms the space and makes it feel more homely and warm. Being wood they are nice underfoot and really transform the space from a cold courtyard into a ‘room’.

- Upcycling. The cherry on top is our signature piece - upcycled reclaimed timber shelving with industrial black brackets and black screws. The customer will varnish them.

Whats next? Now that the heavy work is completed the customer can ‘move in’ we wait with anticipation and hope to come back to see hanging plants, ivy, pot plants, fairy lights, wall decorations and a new table & chairs.
